Quitting is Not an Option

At times being a Christian is not easy. The constant bombardments and pressures from  daily life challenges may cause you to begin questioning the reality of what you signed in for when you declared yourself a Christian by accepting Jesus into your life and calling Him your Lord. These things are normal and are to be expected because at that moment when you said “Jesus be Lord over my life…” you were also saying “satan I denounce your lordship over my life beginning from today”.

We know the devil has been totally defeated by our Lord Jesus through His death and resurrection but as we know, he usually doesn’t give up on us without putting up a fight. As a matter of fact, he will never give up on you as long as you live. In John 16:33 Jesus has this to say: “I have told you these things, so that in me you may have peace. In this world, you will have trouble. But take heart! I have overcome the world.” Another Bible verse Psalm 34:19 informs us that; The righteous person may have many troubles, but the Lord delivers him from them all;

I have personally realized that to stay motivated and above all overcoming the temptation of giving up on Jesus, you will need daily a whole load of hope. letting the promises of God be the source of your hope is the only guarantee that hope will not let you down.

 And having an understanding that the promises of God are found in His word will automatically bring you to the point of studying God’s word. you will also need to understand that these promises are not to be picked out and enchanted for personal gain without the genuine intention of seeking to have a relationship with the giver of the promises. That will make anyone doing that not better than the heathens.

The desire to know Jesus personally should be the ultimate motivation of every Christian who wants to be successful in their Christian walk with God. Being a church-going Christian is not enough to bring you in the place of victory the Lord Jesus wants for you to operate from.

See, it’s only when you’ve personally met Christ either through a personal encounter with Him or by revelation given to you by the Holy Spirit you will always believe that the devil is powerful. I am not saying that he doesn’t have power rather I am trying to make you understand that the only power he has over you is that which you give him in the sense that you have decided to remain a church-going person, which makes you more of a religious person than a true follower of Christ.

Stepping up your game is the only way to beat satan every single time he comes playing one of his games aimed at keeping you from being aware of the fact that he has no power over you as a “Son of God ” in Christ Jesus. Galatians 2:20 is one of my favorite bible verses. It says; I have been crucified with Christ and I no longer live, but Christ lives in me. The life I now live in the body, I live by faith in the Son of God, who loved me and gave himself for me.

Understanding this Verse will give you a clue as to why I call you the “Son of God”: If Christ is the one living through your body now, it means you are indeed dead. You have no life of your own. The master or owner of your existence is Jesus. Meaning when satan will have the audacity to pull up one of his games against you, the person he will collide with always is God because your life is now hidden in Christ Jesus and because He Jesus is in you and you are in Him, you get victorious always!

I pray that you will learn to anchor your hope in God as you let His word build faith in you which in turn strengthens your hope in Him.

Remain Blessed.
